Activating Navigation

Starting Navigation

1. Press [HOME] on the front seat control key or press [B]. The home screen opens.
2. Press [MAP] on the head unit or press [Map] on the home screen. The map screen opens.

Current Location Specification

Press [MAP] on the head unit while using the system specifies the current vehicle location and the map of the surrounding area.

Simple Navigation Feature

Simple navigation features are listed for easy access to frequently used features.

Moves to the simple navigation screen if you press the touchpad on front seat control key.

1 Home

A route to the location saved as Home is advised.

2 Work

A route to the location saved as Work is advised.

3 Previous Destinations

Select previous destination to have a route advised to the selected destination.

4 Search

Searches destinations by entering the full name or initial, phone number or address.

5 Previous Destinations

Set a destination as [Freq.Visited Points], [Destinations], [Searches].

6 Nearby POIs

Search for the POI Category.

7 Saved Places

Sets the location registered in the address book as the destination.

8 Show POI Icons

Set the facilites category displayed on the map screen.

Changing Map View

The Map is displayed based on the vehicle direction or the North direction.

Map View change is available by pressing [] pop-up on the map screen.

• []: Map is displayed having the top directs the North regardless the vehicle’s heading direction.
• []: Map is displayed having the vehicle’s heading direction pointing up.
• []: Map displays buildings in 3D.

Switching Map Scale

Manually Switching Map Scale

Rotate Controller on the Front to Left/Right or zoom in/out with your finger on the map screen to change the map scale.

Automatically Switching Map Scale

The map scale can be automatically set/canceled according to the current vehicle speed.

Press []/[] on the map screen.

• [ ] Fixed scale
• [ ] Automatic Scale. Scale changes based on the current vehicle speed.

Navigation Volume

Sets the volume of voice guidance of navigation.

1. Press [] on the map screen.

2. Select a desired item.

• [J]/[I]: Sets to adjust the volume.
• []: Navigation volume is controlled by one action.
• []/[]: Turns on or off the voice guidance.
• []/[]: Turns on or off the sound effect.
• [Navigation Volume Priority]: Sets the volume of navigation guidance louder than the audio volume.

,Reference

When the voice and the sound effect are muted, the navigation volume button on the map screen is muted.

Navigation Settings

1. Press [Menu] > [Navigation Settings] on the map screen.

Location Sharing

The location information can be shared for a set time period to another person by entering his/her phone number.

1. Press [Menu] > [Location Sharing] on the map screen.
2. For more details, refer to the "Location Sharing".

,Reference

Genesis Connected Service subscription is required to use Location Sharing. Location Sharing may not be accurate on the location depending on the vehicle and/or network environment.

Previous Destinations Settings

When the navigation starts, Popup display of previous and frequent destinations automatically opens for approx. 10 seconds. During the opening, pressing a destination and selecting a desired route start the guidance. (Available only when no route is set)

• [Frequently Visited Points]: Shows frequently visited destinations.
• [Previous Destinations]: Shows previous destinations.
• [Deactivate this pop-up]:Stops to show the pop-up of previous destinations. The setting is also available with [Previous Destinations Settings] in Navigation Settings.

Registering Location

The current vehicle locations can be registered.

1. Press [Menu] > [Save] on the map screen.

2. Press a desired item.

• [Name]: After editing the name, Press [OK].
• [Display Icon on Map]: Sets a symbol to specify on the map screen.
• [Favorites]: Changes the address book.

3. Press [Save].

POI

Setting POI Display

Sets to display the POI Category on the map screen.

1. Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [Show POI Icons] on the map screen.

2. Select a facility to mark on the map screen.

Searches POI Categories

1. Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [Nearby POIs] on the map screen.

2. Press a desired item.

3. Select a desired list.

• [Along Route]: Facility search in neighboring area of route.
• [Near Current Position]: Facility search in neighboring area of the current vehicle location.
• [Near Destination]: Facility search in neighboring area of destination or waypoint.
• [Near Center of Map]: Facility search in neighboring area of selected location.

Searching Scenic Route

1. Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [POI Categories] on the map screen.

2. Press [Scenic route].

• [All]: Displays all scenic route.
• [Near Current Position]: Displays the scenic route in neighboring area of the current vehicle location.
• [Near Destination]: Displays the scenic route in neighboring area of destination.
• [Favorite Course]: Displays the favorite scenic route.
• []: Saves the scenic route as a [Favorite Course].

Setting Scenic Route

Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [Scenic Route] on the map screen.

Home, Work, Favorites

Home, Work or a frequently visited location can be saved/edited in or deleted from favorites.

Saving Favorite Places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Favorites] on the saved places screen.
3. Press a desired item.

4. Use search menu to set Home, Work 1, 2 or 3.

5. When setting is completed, press [OK].

Editing Favorite Places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Favorites] on the saved places screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Edit].
4. Select an item to edit.

5. Select and edit a desired item.

• [Display Icon on Map]: Sets a symbol to specify on the map screen.
• [Favorites]: Changes the Address Book.

6. Press [Save].

Deleting Favorite Places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Favorites] on the saved places screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Delete].

4. Select the desired item, Press [Delete].

• [Mark All]: Selects all items.
• [Unmark All]: Unmarks all items.
• [Cancel]: Exits screen.

Saving/Editing/Deleting My places

Saving a interested location enables convenient setting of destinations and editing/deleting registered locations.

Saving My places

Saves frequently visited locations.

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on the saved places screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Add].
4. Set a desired location by using search menu.

5. When setting is completed, press [OK].

Editing Registered My places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on the saved places screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Edit].
4. Select an item to edit.

5. Select and Edit a desired item.

Sorting Registered My places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on the saved places screen.

3. Press [Menu] > [Name] or [Date] to sort the list.

• [Name]: Locations are sorted in alphabetical order.
• [Date]: Locations are sorted in date order.

Deleting Registered My places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on the saved places screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Delete].

4. Select the desired item, Press [Delete].

• [Mark All]: Selects all items.
• [Unmark All]: Unmarks all items.
• [Cancel]: Exits screen.

Managing address book

Favorites/Previous Destinations from USB Memory

This feature is used to import address book saved in a USB memory.

1. Connect a USB Memory to the USB port.
2. Press [Setup] > [Navigation] > [Nav. Auto. Features] > [User Data] > [Import Favorites/Previous Destinations to USB] on the home screen.
3. Press [Yes].
4. Press [OK]. Press [View] to check the imported registered location.

Favorites/Previous Destinations to USB Memory

This feature is used to export address book to a USB memory.

1. Connect a USB Memory to the USB port.
2. Press [Setup] > [Navigation] > [Nav. Auto. Features] > [User Data] > [Export Favorites/Previous Destinations to USB] on the home screen.
3. Press [Yes].

,Reference

The data amount to import from a USB memory is limited based on the number of registered locations supported by the navigation device. If the data saved in the USB memory uses different coordinates from the ones used in the current system, the coordinates of registered locations may change. Import feature may change previously saved registered locations as well as Favorites in the navigation device. Use after checking if the import feature has been normally performed is recommended. Import/Export feature may not be supported depending on the USB Memory Format Type. FAT16, FAT32, exFAT and NTFS are supported. Some USB memories may not be supported due to compatibility issues.
