Regarding Map Matching of Navigation
Current Location Specification using Map Matching
This product displays the current location based on the calculation by integrating sensor information on the speed and direction of the vehicle and GPS location data. Errors exists on the location information calculated in this way. Therefore, the accurate information that correctly shows the location on the digital map roads is delivered to the driver by Map Matching.

Inaccurate Map Matching
Sometimes, inaccurate calculation on the location may happen even using Map Matching due to the Road and/or GPS conditions. The GPS data includes the location error of approx. 15m. And, especially in case of the followings, the actual location and the displayed location may differ from each other. However, it's not an failure so please feel safe and use it.
Inaccurate Location Calculation due to GPS Data Failure
- Weak or Interrupted Signal by Buildings, Tunnels or Underground Passes.
- Failure of Signal from Satellite (The tracking control center in U.S.A. may stop the signal for repair or improvement of the satellite.)
- Weak Signal due to any Object positioned at the top of GPS antenna (Especially when any metal object or mobile phone is positioned near to GPS antenna.)
- Excessive Sunspot Activities
ocation Tracking Failure by Surrounding Terrains
- Driving in an area near to flat roads
- Driving on straight grid roads
- Driving on uphill roads of excessive curve and/or fast slopes
- Driving on a Y-shaped road with a little number of vehicles running on the road
- Turning around a roundabout
- Driving on a circle with short diameter or P shaped road
- Vehicle is started at a place in an underground parking lot or others that cannot receive GPS signals and enters a road (for a certain time period.)
- Slow driving under an overpass or other areas receiving GPS signals intermittently
- Driving in an urban section where GPS signals are excessively distorted due to buildings and other obstacles
