Guide to using Voice Recognition

Creating an environment inside the car

You can operate the features of AV and navigation system with voice in Hands-free mode.

For ideal voice recognition performance, please observe the followings.

• Voice Recognition Press [i] and after the beep sound, speak the voice command.
• Only the commands in the user's manual will work correctly. Make sure to check the instructions in the manual before using.
• The microphone is located above the driver's head. Therefore, make sure to say voice commands while keeping the correct posture.
• Be careful to prevent loud noise from entering the microphone.
• If the air conditioner is too windy or you hear loud noise from other devices, it may not be recognized properly. In this case, you need to adjust your environment accordingly.
• Create the environment in your vehicle as quiet as possible and speak a little louder to improve voice recognition performance.
• If you turn [:/VOL] the wheel up/down on the front seat control key during the voice recognition process, it will change the volume of the voice recognition guidance.
• Voice commands should be pronounced naturally and clearly, like a dialogue, without interrupting the words.
• If a one-word name with a single syllable is registered in the phone book, it is not recognized properly. (ex: Tom, June)
• If the phone book contains special symbols, it will not be recognized as voice. (ex: Hong Gil Dong_Friend, Jack!)
• When entering a phone book, words containing alphabets or numbers are recognized only as alphabetic pronunciations and numeric monosyllables. (ex: “EMART123” is recognized only as “E, M, A, R, T, One Hundred Twenty Three”)
• If you change the language displayed on the system to English, the voice recognition feature is not supported. Change the system language to 한국어. For more details, refer to the "Language".

Getting started with Voice Recognition

Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.

Skipping Voice Recognition Guidance

Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control briefly again during the voice recognition guidance.

Ending Voice Recognition

Press and hold the [i] on the steering wheel remote control while voice recognition system is operating.

While the voice recognition system is operating, tap any button on the head unit or press the [End] on the screen.

Adjusting the guidance volume of the Voice Recognition

You can adjust the guidance volume of the voice recognition by turning [:/VOL] the wheel up/down on the front seat control key or by pressing the [J/I] wheel button on the steering wheel remote control while a voice guidance is operating.

Basic Operation

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.

While the system voice guidance is operating, press the [i] shortly to stop the guidance and enter voice commands. The voice recognition guidance will be terminated immediately and together with beep sound, you can enter voice commands.

2. After beep sounds, say the desired voice command. (ex: 전체기능)

3. Says the voice commands that you want. (ex: 전화)

4. The input command is fed back to the screen and system voice. To return to the previous screen, enter the "이전 화면" command.
5. The list can be provided with more than one page and can be moved to the desired page by using commands such as "이전 페이지" and "다음 페이지".
6. If you do not know much about the commands, you can see the detailed command list by using the "전체 기능" command.

Destination Search

The destination is set through the voice recognition.

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.
2. After beep sounds, say your desired destination. (ex: 서울역 안내해줘)
3. Say the list of the places you want to go. (ex: 첫번째)

4. Say [예].

5. Start guiding you directly to your chosen destination.

Information Search

Many contents are an available through the voice recognition.

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.
2. After beep sounds, say the search term you want. (ex: 쥐띠 운세 알려줘, 미세먼지 농도 알려줘, 오늘의 뉴스 틀어줘)
   For a list of detailed services that can be searched for, please refer to All Features - Kakao i in the Voice Recognition screen.

3. The result of the searched command is displayed on the screen.

Vehicle Control

The vehicle is controlled through the voice recognition.

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.
2. After the beep sounds, tell us about the vehicle function you want to control. (ex: 공조 틀어줘, 에어컨 꺼줘) For a list of detailed services that can be searched for, refer to All Functions - Vehicle Control in the Voice Recognition screen. (Supported vehicle control commands may vary by vehicle type.)

3. Vehicle control works.

Previous Destinations

You set one of your previous destinations as your destination.

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.
2. After the beep sounds, say “최근 목적지”.
3. Say the list of the places you want to go. (ex: 첫번째)

4. Say [예].

5. It starts directing you to the selected recent destination.

Home

Home, which is already registered, is set as a destination.

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.
2. After the beep sounds, say “우리집”.
3. Home, which is already registered, is set as a destination.

If home is not set in the address book, You can register your home with voice recognition.

Dial

The phone number registered already will be connected.

1. Press the [i] on the steering wheel remote control.
2. After the beep sounds, say “전화 걸기”.
3. Say the name of the person you want to call.

4. Dialing the number.
