Sound Settings

The images displayed on this system may differ from actual ones.

Move to sound setting screen

Press Setup > Sound on the home screen. The sound settings screen is displayed.

Adjusting the sound effect (if equipped)

Press the sound effect button on the media/broadcasting screen to adjust.

  • However, this function is not provided in the sound settings.

  • Sound effects can be set separately for each media/broadcasting mode.

Bang & Olufsen high-resolution sound system (If equipped)

  • Reference: Delivers true sound focusing on original sound source.

  • Surround: The surround sound technology identifies and re-authors individual sound sources into a precise multi-channel soundstage providing a 10-step surround effect enabling customized surround sound with variable intensity.

Premium sound

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Premium Sound.

  2. Press desired mode.

    • Speed Dependent Volume Control: Automatically adjusts Audio volume based on vehicle speed.

    • Start-up Maximum Volume Limit: Upon starting the vehicle, lowers radio and media volumes if they are higher than factory-set maximum start-up levels.

    • Sound Show Room (if equipped): You can experience 3D and rich sound applied to the vehicle.

Tone

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Tone.

  2. Adjust the desired sound quality.

Beosonic (If equipped)

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Beosonic.

  2. Adjust the desired sound quality.

Position

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Position.

  2. Adjust the sound position.

  • You can adjust sound location toward driver seat so that sound at the back seat or side seat becomes relatively smaller.

  • In all seats screen, you can touch and drag the point in position screen to adjust position.

Guidance

You can set navigation guide sound and audio volume rate.

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Guidance.

  2. Press the desired priority item.

    • Voice Type: Can be select the guidance voice. (It is supported only if the system setting language is Korean.)

    • Guidance Volumes: Plays features at the set volumes.

    • Navigation Voice Guidance: Sets Voice Guidance preferences.

    • Navigation Alerts: Sets different types of navigation alerts.

    • Navigation During Calls: Plays audio navigation guidance during phone calls. (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay navigation sounds are not eligible.)

    • Navigation Volume Priority: Lowers Media volumes when Nav.guidance is playing.

    • Mute Navigation Guidance: While Navigation guidance is playing, pressing the Mute button on the steering wheel will mute the guidance for 10 seconds.

    • Weather Briefing (if equipped): When starting the vehicle, it informs weather information in voice and text.

    • Welcome Sound: Provides an audible tone when the cluster turns on or off.

If you want to use Weather Briefing, activate Genesis Connected Services.

Navigation volume controls

Sets the volume controls used for Nav. Guidance/Beeps/Sounds.

Radio Noise

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Radio Noise.

  2. Press the desired item.

    • Original Sound: Provides original FM sound as received. However, the noise may sound harsh.

    • Minimum Noise Reduction: Balances original sound with some reduced background noise.

    • Maximum Noise Reduction: Provides maximum reduction of background noise when playing FM Radio. However, the volume of the original radio sound may change.

Driver Assistance

  1. Press Driver Assistance on the vehicle settings screen.

  2. Press a desired items.

    • Warning Volume: Adjusts the volume of the warning sound.

    • Haptic Warning: Adjusts the intensity of the steering wheel vibration warning.

    • Speed Limit Warning Sound (if equipped): Sets the speeding warning sound.

    • Speed Limit Change Notification Sound (if equipped): Sets the speed limit notification sound.

    • Inattentive Driving Warning Sound (if equipped): Sets the careless driving warning sound.

    • Lane Safety Audible Warning (if equipped): Sets the lane safety warning sound.

    • Lane Safety Audible Warning Off: If both the warning sound and steering wheel vibration alerts are turned on, turn of the lane safety warning sound.

    • Blind-Spot Safety Warning Sound (if equipped): Sets the rear lateral safety warning sound.

    • Driving Safety Priority: Lowers all other audio volumes when a Driving Safety system sounds a warning.

    • Parking Safety Priority: Lowers all other audio volumes when a Parking Assist view is active.

Connected Device Volumes

  1. On the sound settings screen, press Connected Device Volumes.

  2. Adjust the volume of the connected device.

    • Android Auto: Set the media and voice guidance volume when using Android Auto function.

    • Apple CarPlay: Set the media, phone, navigation, voice, phone and ringtone volume when using the Apple CarPlay function.

  • Press Reset to reset the volume of the connected device.

  • Media playback stops when operating volume menu.
